About me

Hello! I’m Marie, and I’m the proud owner of aub & bo. It's hard to believe that I’ve been in this industry for 16 years! 

straight from school, I attended college where I earned my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in beauty therapy. My journey in the beauty world began at Clarins, focusing primarily on facials and body massages. 

Five years ago, I took a leap of faith to become self-employed to work around my two children. Starting from scratch with no clients is something Im really proud of. 

In recent years, I’ve dedicated my efforts to specialising in brows and natural lashes. These two services are my passion, and I want to concentrate my focus on them. 

A fun fact about me is that in 2014, I traveled around the world alone for five months. Anyone who knows me is aware that my navigation skills leave much to be desired, and I still can’t figure out how I managed to travel solo. It just goes to show that stepping outside your comfort zone can lead to amazing experiences!

Why I chose Nouveau Lashes

After completing my qualification in lash lifts, I chose to take the LVL lash lift conversion course. I appreciated that, as a brand, you needed to be trained in their specific methods to use their products. Since a lot goes into achieving a successful lash lift, receiving outstanding training is essential.

Top treatment tip

Understanding Your Clients' Lashes 

Ask Key Questions:

• Have you previously had a lift, and what was the outcome? 
• If you have used a lash curler, does the lift drop immediately? 
• Does your hair absorb color quickly? (I’ve noticed this often indicates that their lashes will respond faster.) 

Consider Lash Characteristics: 

• If your client's lashes are particularly thick and downward-facing, consider using cling film and extending the timing. 
• Thick, downward lashes are among the most challenging to lift, so take your time when applying them to the shield and choose the appropriate shield type carefully

Advice for starting in the beauty industry

Stay focused to Your Journey. Developing a skill requires patience, and striving for perfection can feel like a never-ending, as there is always potential for growth. Remain dedicated to your training to keep up with this rapidly evolving industry. Connect with fellow artists in your field and don't hesitate to ask questions; this is the key to your learning and development.
