I’m Amie
I live in Colchester, Essex, and for as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with all things self-care and pampering. I always feel a hundred times more confident in my own skin after giving myself a treatment or receiving one—it gives me that extra boost of self-esteem. I get the exact same feeling when I finish a client’s appointment, knowing I have helped someone feel more confident in themselves.
I used to work in operating theatres at a private hospital, but I felt stuck in a job I didn’t enjoy and found unfulfilling. One of my close friends mentioned she had completed her HD Brows course and encouraged me to investigate it. After doing some research, I booked myself onto the course in March 2017. I began working part-time from my living room, offering brow treatments alongside my full-time job, and it quickly became clear that this was my true passion.
My dad built me a home salon, which soon became my little sanctuary. From there, I booked further courses in Nouveau Lashes LVL and other beauty treatments. Over time, I realised my heart was in all things brows and lash lifts. In 2020, I turned my side hustle into a full-time career.
In 2024, I temporarily shut down my business to move abroad and worked in a beautiful salon. Although it was short-lived and I returned home after four months, I eagerly relaunched my business. Rebuilding from scratch was daunting and scary—I worried whether I would regain my client base and return to where I once was. I poured my energy into creating strong content to welcome clients back into the salon.
I now have a two-year-old daughter, and this career gives me the flexibility to work around our schedule. It allows me to be present for so much more than I could be when I was employed. It’s given me both time and financial stability—and it’s easily the best decision I’ve ever made.

The HD Brow Glue is amazing—it holds brows in place all day and helps create a fuller, fluffier look (I use it daily myself!). I also love Nouveau Lashes’ Brow & Lash Conditioning Serum, a best-seller in my salon. It’s cost-effective since it works on both brows and lashes, and my clients rave about how soft and conditioned their hairs feel afterward.
Top treatment tip
Always complete a thorough consultation with your client. This helps you understand their goals, identify any contraindications, and ensure they leave happy with the results. A great consultation sets the tone for a successful treatment.
Advice for starting in the beauty industry
JUST DO IT!!! Believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. This has been the most rewarding journey, and choosing this career and lifestyle change has been one of the best decisions of my life.
